📍 KANSAS CITY METRO: ICE Arrests 30+ Residents During World Cup
According to a report published today by KCUR, ICE agents arrested at least 30 Kansas City metro residents between June 15 and July 3 — a period that coincided with World Cup matches hosted in Kansas City.
Operations were concentrated in:
- Wyandotte County (Kansas City, KS)
- Johnson County (Olathe, KS)
- Northeast Kansas City
Tyra Chantelle of the KC Community Defense Coalition confirmed the 30 arrests via their ICE activity hotline. On July 9, HSI/ICE agents detained approximately 8 workers at La Fontanella Foods in Northeast Kansas City.
Kansas became the second state to grant local law enforcement authority to collaborate with ICE. As of July 1, 2026, a new Kansas law gives officers discretionary power to arrest anyone they claim distracts them from their duties.

🚨 MAINE: Person Killed in ICE-Involved Shooting Today
This morning, July 13, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m., ICE agents rammed a white car with an SUV in Biddeford, Maine. Eyewitness Daniel Boucher reported hearing gunshots and saw the wounded driver say: "But I tried to stop."
Photos from the scene showed bullet holes in the windshield of the smaller car. The victim later died. Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau confirmed the death on Facebook.
Federal authorities — including ICE, DHS, and the FBI — have not provided specific details. The agents involved were not wearing body cameras.
